- Your space heaters should be at least 3 feet away from items.
- Chimneys need to be inspected and cleaned every fall.
- Use a fire screen to keep sparks inside of fireplace.
Outdoors
- Clear your roof and gutters from buildup of leaves or sticks.
- When burning any leaves keeping it 25 feet away from any buildings and pay attention to your local regulations. Have a fire-extinguisher nearby. Recycling is a safe alternative from burning
Holiday:
- Use a flashlight for your Jack-o’-lanterns.
- If you choose to deep fry a turkey for Thanksgiving, be sure the fryer is away from the home outside and not in a garage. Monitor the temperature of the oil. Ensure the turkey is completed thawed. Lower the turkey into the oil slowly.
