Your family and your home needs preparation for a storm plan before it happens. Conversation should take place with all family members of if a natural disaster were to occur where would you go to meet up at. What your grab and no bag would need it. Clothing, medicine, flashlights, important personal documents are all items you should consider taking. Ask yourself if you had 5 minutes to grab your must haves, could you do it? 

At your home pending the type of storm it is you'll have some work to prevent damage from occurring. Securing your loose belongings like furniture and trash cans. Prior to a heavy rainstorm check your gutter drains that they are directed away from your house and functioning. 

After the storm has stopped you need to take photos for your insurance of any damage prior to cleanup beginning.
